Cosenza’s Algebra I TEKS Companion is a supplemental resource for grades 3-8 and Algebra I. Learning List recently reviewed the material for Algebra I. The material is available in print and consists of a student workbook and a brief teacher’s manual. It is designed to support TEKS-based instruction, providing background information on the student expectations and numerous practice problems.
Instruction is organized in units based on the major strands of the TEKS. Each unit contains numerous lessons based on individual TEKS. Students read, study examples, and solve math problems as they work through the lessons in the workbook. The material includes numerous STAAR-styled practice problems.
