TPS offers two different comprehensive programs for prekindergarten, STEAM Themes and Live and Learn. The materials are available in print and digital forms, in a variety of configurations. Live and Learn focuses on four principles: every child is unique, positive relationships, enabling environments, and children learn and develop differently. STEAM Themes focuses on “conceptual learning, basic skills, meaningful experiences, and thinking, reasoning, and communicating.”
Both programs provide lessons that are specific to individual Texas Prekindergarten Guidelines. STEAM Themes is organized around a central theme and thirteen different unit themes. Live and Learn’s organization is based on the domains of the Texas Prekindergarten Guidelines.
Both programs support typical prekindergarten learning structures: whole-group, small-group, and stations. The materials for both programs are only provided in English.
