Accelerate Learning’s STEMscopes Math is a comprehensive mathematics program for grades K-5. Learning List recently reviewed the content for grades K-2, and previously completed reviews for grades 3-5. The materials are digital, with the option of printing PDF documents for most program components.
The program makes intentional connections to math concepts as they are found in the everyday world. Scopes (lessons) require students to use critical thinking, reflection, and collaborative exploration while consistently providing opportunities for students to explain and justify their thinking.
The goal of the program is to provide meaningful learning experiences that focus on 21st century skills and support student success in STEM careers. To that end, the program includes instructional suggestions to support teachers in providing instruction that develops higher-level thinking and questioning. Additionally, the Scopes consistently provide instructional experiences that support inquiry-based learning.
The digital materials include an abundance of resources and most of the materials are available in English and Spanish.
