Texas Economics: Math & Personal Finance is a free set of lesson plans (OER) for teaching mathematics and personal financial literacy in grades K-12. Learning List has completed reviews for Personal Financial Literacy (Grades 4-6), Personal Financial Literacy – Lessons for Classrooms and After School Programs (Grades 7 & 8) and Texas Economics: Math & Personal Finance (Grades K-3).
Although the state of Texas has chosen not to adopt the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) as the state’s K-12 English language arts and math standards, Texas school boards are, nevertheless, facing an ongoing struggle over the CCSS.
One of the most significant goals that educators have is developing 21st-Century critical thinkers. The portfolio of instructional materials that Mentoring Minds has developed is designed to work toward that goal.
