About STEMscopes Science Texas

STEMscopes Science Texas supports student learning with phenomena, hands-on experiences, and virtual simulations. The curriculum uses the 5E instructional model, with intervention and acceleration added, to support inquiry-based instruction.

Scopes (lessons) are based on TEKS-aligned topics and span multiple days of instruction. Each Scope seamlessly integrates phenomena, scientific practices, and recurring themes.

Students are provided with ongoing opportunities to think and act like scientists, and see how specific scientific concepts are evident in the real world and impact daily life. Scopes also include suggestions to help teachers differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.

The student material does not include a “traditional” textbook or eText. Rather, students access the materials as they are assigned by the teacher on the platform.

Resources can be used digitally, or most program components can be printed in PDF format.
