The materials focus on the specific Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) needed to prepare for the Texas STAAR mathematics assessments. Specifically, Countdown to the Math STAAR provides STAAR-styled questions (e.g., multiple-choice, griddable) organized into multiple practice tests.
As reviewed, Countdown to the Math STAAR also includes additional practice tests in a supplemental publication called “The Gauntlet.” Students can monitor their own progress using the “Quick Track” document, and the program encourages teachers to use student performance to gauge student learning needs by TEKS.
